Spending time in nature can be a great way to relax and recharge mentally. y family found the climb to be quite difficult, with the physical demands surpassing what I had anticipated. However, the experience was truly rewarding when we saw the stars shining brightly in the dark sky and reached the crater rim. I am grateful to Mr. Lim for his kindness and thoughtfulness, as he was always willing to assist and even helped carry my bags part of the way due to my knee issue. I want to thank him once more. For those attempting the climb for the first time, remember to pack only essential items (such as warm clothes) and consider using knee protection.
We had an incredible experience camping overnight on the crater rim, enjoying breathtaking sunsets and sunrises. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a stunning view of Mount Agung in Bali peeking through the clouds. The company was well-organized and responsive to our messages, showing expertise in the logistics of the hike. They made accommodations for our group of healthy and fit individuals in our mid-50s. The two-day hike to the crater rim of Mount Rinjani in Lombok involved reaching 2600 meters (8500 feet) with an ascent of 1800 meters (5900 feet), which was challenging, especially towards the end due to slippery volcanic ash and rock scrambling.
