Itinerary for 4-Day Trekking to Mount Rinjani

Day 1: Trekking to Sembalun Crater Rim

Our trek commences at 08:00 AM from the starting point (1,156m altitude). We’ll walk for 2 hours to reach Post 1 (1,300m), and then another 40 minutes to reach Post 2 (1,500m). After a 10-15 minute break, we’ll continue to Pads Belong (Post 3) at 1,800m, where we’ll have a 2-hour lunch break. In the afternoon, we’ll trek to Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m) and set up camp. As the sun sets, we’ll enjoy breathtaking views overlooking the crater lake.

Day 2: Summit Day – Reaching the Top of Mount Rinjani

Pre-dawn departure at 02:00-02:30 AM. We’ll have a light breakfast before departing from camp and beginning the challenging ascent to the summit. After 3 hours of strenuous climbing, we’ll reach the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726m/12,224ft) and enjoy breathtaking views. We’ll then descend to Segara Anak Lake (2,000m) and set up camp.

Day 3: Exploring Segara Anak Lake and Ascending to Senaru Crater Rim

We’ll wake up to a leisurely breakfast and spend the morning relaxing around the lake. After lunch, we’ll commence the 3-hour climb to Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m), navigating through steep, rocky ascents. We’ll enjoy a spectacular sunset and panoramic views across the lake.

Day 4: Descending to Senaru Village

After a nourishing breakfast, we’ll bid farewell to Mount Rinjani’s crater and begin our descent to Senaru village. We’ll take in the breathtaking views of the sunrise and trek through the lush rainforest, spotting rare wildlife. We’ll take a break for lunch along the way and continue down to Senaru village (601m), where our trek comes to an end.
