Day 4 – Senaru Crater Rim → Senaru Village
After breakfast, descend through the lush tropical rainforest to Senaru Village, where the trek ends.

Day 0: Arrival, Pick-up & Preparation

Our team provides free pick-up from the following locations in Lombok:

  • Kuta Lombok

  • Tetebatu

Upon arrival, our driver will pick you up and take you to Jou Trekking Guesthouse in Senaru, our meeting point and preparation area.

Once you arrive, you can check in, relax, and prepare for your trek. Our team will provide a trekking briefing covering the itinerary, safety information, equipment, and other important details.

You can also leave your extra luggage safely at our office/guesthouse while you are trekking.

Overnight: Jou Trekking Guesthouse, Senaru

Day 1 – Senaru → Sembalun → Sembalun Crater Rim

After breakfast, depart from Senaru and drive to Sembalun Village (1,156 m), the starting point of the trek.

After registration and a short briefing, begin hiking through the beautiful Sembalun savanna. The trail starts relatively gently before gradually becoming steeper as you approach the famous Seven Hills.

Enjoy lunch along the trail before continuing toward Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639 m).

Arrive at the campsite in the afternoon and relax while your porters prepare the camp. Enjoy spectacular views of Segara Anak Lake, Mount Baru Jari, and the Rinjani summit.

Enjoy dinner and sunset at the crater rim before an early night in preparation for the summit climb.

Overnight: Sembalun Crater Rim
Trekking: Approximately 6–7 hours
Meals: Lunch & dinner

Day 2 – Rinjani Summit → Segara Anak Lake

Wake up around 2:00 AM and prepare for the summit climb.

After a light breakfast and hot drink, begin the challenging ascent toward Mount Rinjani Summit (3,726 m). The trail becomes increasingly steep, with loose volcanic sand and gravel requiring a slow and steady pace.

Arrive at the summit around sunrise and enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Lombok, Bali, Sumbawa, and Segara Anak Lake.

After taking photos and enjoying the summit, descend carefully back to the crater rim for breakfast and a short rest.

Continue descending into the crater toward Segara Anak Lake (2,004 m). Enjoy lunch beside the lake and take time to relax.

In the afternoon, visit the nearby natural hot springs, a perfect place to relax after the demanding summit climb.

Enjoy dinner and spend the night camping beside Segara Anak Lake.

Trekking: Approximately 8–10 hours
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 3 – Segara Anak Lake → Senaru Crater Rim

Enjoy a relaxed morning beside Segara Anak Lake. After breakfast, you can take some time to enjoy the scenery and visit the hot springs again.

After lunch, begin the climb toward Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m).

The trail climbs through rocky volcanic terrain and becomes steeper as you approach the crater rim. Take regular breaks and enjoy the changing views of the lake and surrounding caldera.

Arrive at Senaru Crater Rim in the afternoon and set up camp.

From the crater rim, enjoy one of Rinjani’s most spectacular viewpoints overlooking Segara Anak Lake, Mount Baru Jari, and the surrounding mountains.

Enjoy sunset and dinner before spending your final night on the mountain.

Trekking: Approximately 6–7 hours
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 4 – Senaru Crater Rim → Senaru Village

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast with panoramic views from the crater rim.

After breakfast, begin the final descent through the lush tropical rainforest of Senaru.

The trail passes through dense forest with plenty of shade and several rest points. Along the way, you may see tropical birds and monkeys.

Continue descending gradually until you reach Senaru Village, where the trek officially ends.

After arriving at the trekking center, you can refresh yourself, collect your luggage, and continue to your next destination in Lombok.

What Is the Mount Rinjani Trekking Experience Like?

This is a challenging but rewarding adventure through beautiful landscapes, including savannah, rainforest, volcanic terrain, crater views, and the famous Segara Anak Lake.

What Is Your Cancellation and Refund Policy?

A USD 50 booking deposit is required to secure your reservation and is non-refundable under all circumstances.

Please note that once Mount Rinjani National Park permits have been issued, the permit fees cannot be refunded or transferred to another person or trekking date.

If you have paid the full trekking fee and need to cancel your booking, any eligible refundable balance will be returned, excluding the non-refundable deposit and any non-refundable permit fees that have already been processed.

Yes. From April 1, 2026, all trekkers on Mount Rinjani are required to have valid travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trekking accidents, and emergency evacuation.
 
If you do not have suitable coverage, Premium Trekking Insurance can be arranged through the Mount Rinjani National Park Authority for USD 18 per person before the trek begins.
