Day 0: Arrival, Pick-up & Preparation

Our team provides free pick-up from the following locations in Lombok:

  • Tetebatu

Upon arrival, our driver will pick you up and take you to Jou Trekking Guesthouse in Senaru, our meeting point and preparation area.

Once you arrive, you can check in, relax, and prepare for your trek. Our team will provide a trekking briefing covering the itinerary, safety information, equipment, and other important details.

You can also leave your extra luggage safely at our office/guesthouse while you are trekking.

Overnight: Jou Trekking Guesthouse, Senaru

Day 1: Senaru Village (601m) → Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m)

08:00 AM – Trek Begins
Start from Senaru Village and hike through the lush tropical rainforest of Mount Rinjani National Park.

11:00 AM – Break at Pos 2 (1,500m)
Rest, rehydrate, and enjoy fresh fruit and snacks.

11:30 AM – Continue to Pos 3
Continue uphill through the rainforest toward Pos 3.

01:30 PM – Lunch at Pos 3 (2,000m)
Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch before the final ascent.

02:30 PM – Final Ascent
Continue toward the crater rim as the rainforest gives way to open mountain slopes and rocky trails.

04:30 PM – Arrive at Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m)
Relax and enjoy the spectacular views while the porters set up camp.

06:00 PM – Sunset & Dinner
Enjoy sunset views over Segara Anak Lake, Mount Baru Jari, and Mount Agung in Bali, followed by dinner.

Overnight: Camping at Senaru Crater Rim.

Day 2: Sangkareang Second Summit → Senaru Village

03:30 AM – Wake Up & Light Breakfast
Enjoy a light breakfast with hot tea or coffee before the summit climb.

04:00 AM – Climb to Sangkareang Summit (3,126m)
Begin the challenging ascent along the ridge toward Rinjani’s Second Summit.

06:00 AM – Sunrise at the Summit
Enjoy spectacular views of Lombok, Segara Anak Lake, Mount Rinjani’s crater, and, on clear days, Mount Agung and Sumbawa.

07:30 AM – Descend to Crater Rim
Return to the campsite for breakfast, rest, and packing.

09:30 AM – Descend to Senaru Village
Continue downhill through the lush tropical rainforest, with opportunities to spot local wildlife.

12:30 PM – Lunch Along the Trail
Take a short break for lunch before continuing the descent.

02:30 PM – Arrive at Senaru Village (601m)
The trek ends in Senaru Village. Collect your belongings and continue to your next destination in Lombok.

What Route Does the Trek Follow?

The trek starts from Senaru Village and follows a scenic trail through the tropical rainforest to Senaru Crater Rim. The following morning, you climb Mount Sangkareang, Rinjani’s second summit, before descending back to Senaru Village.

What Is Your Cancellation and Refund Policy?

A USD 40 booking deposit is required to secure your reservation and is non-refundable under all circumstances.

Please note that once Mount Rinjani National Park permits have been issued, the permit fees cannot be refunded or transferred to another person or trekking date.

If you have paid the full trekking fee and need to cancel your booking, any eligible refundable balance will be returned, excluding the non-refundable deposit and any non-refundable permit fees that have already been processed.

Yes. From April 1, 2026, all trekkers on Mount Rinjani are required to have valid travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trekking accidents, and emergency evacuation.
 
If you do not have suitable coverage, Premium Trekking Insurance can be arranged through the Mount Rinjani National Park Authority for USD 18 per person before the trek begins.

The trek starts and finishes in Senaru Village, making it a convenient option for travelers staying in Senaru or nearby areas.

The trek is considered challenging, with steep sections, uneven terrain, and a demanding early-morning climb to Mount Sangkareang. A good level of fitness and endurance is recommended.

Yes. Beginners with a good level of fitness can join the trek. We recommend preparing with regular walking, hiking, or other endurance activities before your trip.

Previous trekking experience is helpful but not required. However, you should be physically fit, well-prepared, and comfortable hiking for several hours on mountainous terrain.

The best trekking season is generally from April to October, when weather and trail conditions are typically more favorable for trekking. Trekking conditions can still vary depending on the weather.
