We chose private tour 3 days, 2 nights. Everything went smoothly. They picked us up in the harbour and drove us to Senaru where we had a briefing before trekking. The overnight stay was simple but had everything we needed. Our guide Rudy and the porters took care of us throughout the trekking. The trek itself is hard, be prepared, because the second day is rigorous and not everybody make it! But as beautiful as it can be, we loved the whole experience and can not recommend it enough!
A friend and I just completed the 3D2N Rinjani Trek and it was absolutely amazing! The hike is stunning, with a long but incredibly rewarding second day.
We chose Lombok Volcano Trekking because the reviews were so high and Jou was so helpful and responsive via WhatsApp beforehand. The company did not disappoint!
Our guide Rudi and porters Andy and Dule were brilliant. So friendly and accommodating; constantly bending over backwards “to make us happy”. (Their words!) By the end of the trip, we were sad to part ways with them – it felt like we’d become a family!
The company were very flexible. They accommodated our request to sleep in separate tents, and accommodated my vegan dietary requirements (whilst still providing my friend with meat / eggs etc!)
They also managed to cook fantastic food each day (in copious amounts) – no one can possibly be hungry with those guys around!
Finally – we were 2 girls on our own, and felt completely safe. The guides were totally professional.
Don’t delay and book this trip with these guys – I have made memories that will last a lifetime thanks to them.
Amazing experience – We did the 3days 2nights tour with Lombok Volcano Trekking and were more than happy with this incredibly well organised company. They provide you with everything you could possibly need – on the mountain.our guide Josi he was so helpful and kind to us throughout and we would never have made it to the top without him even carrying my backpack when I struggled and was so patient with us. Our porters were super nice & friendly and always up for a laugh. Another big surprise was the food (including fresh fruit and hot tea/coffee at all times) which was very tasty and there was always plenty for everyone! If you are considering trekking on Mount Rinjani go with Lombok volcano Trekking, you’ll be in the best hands possible!
I did this hike via Sembalun and back via Torean for a 3D/2N hike. We are relative fit men in 40s and 50s so we were helped by Jo, his porters and cooks.
Jo’s team was cool, capable and took care of everything. The cooks were especially excellent in whipping up delicious meal in the most unlikely places. They helped collected trash on the our way back which is really commendable.
If you could, stay one more night to allow more time and avoid the need to rush back and hike in the dark. The Torean route is still relatively “raw “with no official stop post, it went thru some ropes, ladders, jagged rocks and slopes, but the view is fantastic. Overall it was gruelling, but was an absolutely memorable trip.
